We have the Asian Americans and Pacific Islanders (AAPI) community to thank for bringing to our lives many of the things we enjoy day to day, from delicious dishes to spectacular art to bubble tea and so much more. The America we live in would look very different without the contributions and cultural influences from the AAPI community. May is Asian Pacific American Heritage Month and as an AAPI and female-owned marketing consultancy, we wanted to highlight a few of our favorite AAPI female-owned small businesses.
Unfortunately, the AAPI community have been targeted with violent and hateful attacks since the start of the pandemic. These hate crimes and racist encounters are not new to the community, but this is an important moment to be reminded to #StopAsianHate and support our AAPI friends and neighbors. Join us in challenging the racist ideals and institutions that perpetuate anti-Asian hate in our society. Supporting the AAPI community is vital right now and always, and being actively anti-racist requires both education and action.
Supporting AAPI-owned businesses is a great way to uplift the community. Eat their food, browse their online shops, follow them on social media, comment on their posts, share their small businesses with your friends… there’s so much you can do to make an impact!
